Summer Language Stays in the Balearic Islands from the Ramon Llull Institute.
Every summer, the University of the Balearic Islands hosts the summer language stays in the Balearic Islands: a Catalan language and culture course for university students in the Ramon Llull Institute network.
Around 30-40 students from universities across the globe take part in the courses every year.
In 2018, the experience was boosted by the UIB hosting the first language stay for Catalan teachers from across the globe with ties to the Ramon Llull Institute.
Due to the Covid-19 health crisis, the Ramon Llull Institute organised the 2020 summer language stay in the Balearic Islands as an online course. It offered students from the Overseas University Network of Catalan Studies (XarxaLlull) and other centres an original and different type of language immersion, with language lessons and a wide range of cultural and recreational activities, all online.
